The union of two creative universes led by women: visual art and beachwear. Both share a deep connection with Brazilian biodiversity, its vibrant colors and the transience of natural cycles.
Curated by Luiza Testa, Juli Manara and Celeste transformed this connection into art, giving life to the Kimono Manacá – a piece that celebrates Brazilianness in its essence and that will be launched at Juli Manara's exhibition at the Brazilian Embassy in London. The choice of artisanal work, carried out by a network of women from the Brazilian Cerrado, reinforces the vision of both on the importance of sustainability and positive impact in fashion and art.
Each kimono is carefully made by women micro-producers from the interior of Minas Gerais. The embroidery, hand-made by talented embroiderers, can take two whole days to complete, reflecting the artistic and cultural richness of this meticulous work. We value this dedication and seek to remunerate them fairly, recognizing the beauty and meaning of each piece created.
Manacá Kimono comes in one size with a loose fit for use on the beach and beyond.
